Basic Function: Provide supervision and direct care services to a group of female or male adolescents residing in our residential and shelter northside programs. Position is task-oriented and requires a high standard of quality and accuracy. The ideal candidate for this position will lead by example and take work seriously; has a strong sense of duty; is disciplined and works at a faster than average pace with strong follow through ability. Utilization of both verbal and physical intervention skills. Candidate should have above average attention to details, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. Must adhere to established guidelines and procedures, and make decisions. Must have a valid IL DL and ability to work afternoon and night hours. Prior experience or education in a child welfare or human services field. Bi-lingual applicants encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision of basic living needs, such as food, shelter, clean clothes, bedding, and other personal items and services needed to meet the requirements of reasonably comfortable and socially acceptable group living as well as the special needs of individual residents.
- Stimulates residents to expand their knowledge base, assists in tutoring and helping them do their homework assignments, and generally orients them toward social norms which govern life both within and outside the agency.
- Provides and symbolizes adult security to residents by maintaining discipline and order within the group, keeping the demands of individual residents in balance with the needs of the group as a whole.

Title: Social Worker- Type 73
Program: Clinical Services
Basic Function: Provides direct social work services to clients and their families, within agency policies, including home visits, transportation of clients in agency or personal vehicle, etc. Requires good verbal communication with staff, referring agencies, community resources and clients/families as well as ability to provide on-going required written documentation. Requires good computer skills. Must be able to effectively use both verbal and physical intervention skills with individuals weighing a minimum of 50 lbs. Physical intervention requires ability to kneel and return to standing without assistance. Flexibility to adjust to work schedule according to the needs of the program.
Qualifications: Masters Degree
Additional Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work and LSW or LCSW required.
- Type 73
- Valid Illinois drivers license with no suspensions in effect within the previous three years of hire.
- Must have personal vehicle or access to a vehicle.
- No history of child abuse or neglect.
- Must take and pass the Child Welfare Core Curriculum Training and CERAP within one year of employment.
Responsibilities:
- Carries a selected load of clients and families as assigned, focusing on the use of individual, group or family treatment modalities.
- Formulates and frequently reviews treatment plans with clinical manager.
- Implements the specified treatment process.
- Takes leadership in the planning and evaluation of conferences.
- Takes responsibility for presenting intake material to relevant staff and presenting in Intake Committee for final decision.
- Provides data, information and the treatment goals to relevant staff. Works with other staff in coordination of efforts to reach the treatment goals established.
- Works closely with other staff in meeting the needs of clients under care.
- Determines visiting schedule for residents, if applicable, and keeps informed about benefits and problems following visits as provided by childcare and educational staff.
- Interprets agency’s services to assigned clients.
- Attends agency and other professional seminars and conferences to increase professional knowledge and skills.
- Liaison to DCFS or other agency (courts, school districts, etc.), communicating goals and progress toward accomplishment.
- Determines with the team, needs for adjunctive community programs (schools, recreation, jobs, vocational opportunities, medical, etc.).
- Liaison/facilitator in community, police and neighborhood situations.
- Locates and evaluates resources, facilitates referral and supportive services on and off campus.
- Facilitates the classroom community philosophy and voting process for student of the week/month
- Ability to work effectively with clients and staff in a culturally diverse environment.
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement in all aspects of the position.
- Participates in the development and implementation of continuous quality improvement activities as assigned.

Program: Clinical Services
Basic Function: Reports to the Program Manager of Therapeutic Recreation/Expressive Therapies. Works with clients ages 8-21. Plans, implements and evaluates specialized comprehensive MT programs for agency clients. Must have the ability to administer needs and skills assessments, develop Individualized Treatment Plans, maintain documentation and progress notes reflecting services provided to clients, as well as function as an integral part of multidisciplinary treatment team. Transport and directly observe clients participating in MT activities. Utilization of both verbal and physical intervention. Ability to restrain clients and work with individuals of diverse cultural, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree
Additional Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Music Therapy.
- Registered Music Therapist-Board Certified, or eligible.
- Ability to effectively utilize verbal and physical intervention. Physical intervention requires the ability to kneel and return to standing without assistance.
- Previous experience with youth desired.
- Must have valid IL DL and no history of child abuse or neglect.
- Ability to work effectively with clients/staff of diverse cultural, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.
Responsibilities: - Completes individual assessment of youth within 5 days of admission, utilizing established departmental assessment procedures.
- Maintains involvement in departmental planning from a comprehensive, as well as specific program planning perspective, participating in needs assessments, team meetings and departmental meetings.
- Implements specific programs, special events and other activities, as generally designed in specific program description.
- Evaluates specific programs as established by departmental policies. Completes formal documentation procedures as established by departmental policies.
- Maintains membership in professional organizations and keeps current credentials in appropriate/relevant discipline and maintains professional organizational involvement.
- Establishes and maintains professional relationships with clients and responds to problem behaviors in methods established by departmental and agency policies.
- Ability to work effectively with clients and staff in a culturally diverse environment.
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement activities, as assigned.
- Completes other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
