The Campaign for the Children of Lawrence Hall
Action. Hope. Opportunity.

Throughout our history, Lawrence Hall has been a leader in pioneering progressive change, and The Campaign for the Children of Lawrence Hall is no exception. Both visionary and responsive, this effort will completely transform our five-acre campus through:
New state-of-the-art environment to enhance our continuum of care.
Integration of new therapies.
Facilities that can evolve as they accommodate future changes in treatment modalities.

When you invest in Lawrence Hall, you recognize the value of every child. You help ensure that the least fortunate will have the opportunity not only to survive but also to gain the skills necessary to lead happy and productive lives.

Help us realize the dream for Lawrence Hall, and our promise of action, hope, and opportunity.

Current Situation
The Campaign for the Children of Lawrence Hall not only answers the increasing need for our services in the community, but, more importantly, the deterioration of our current physical plant.

Our current physical environment presents major challenges to the day-to-day delivery of our programs and fulfillment of our mission. Each year, an increasingly larger portion of our precious resources are directed toward a range of infrastructure needs that cannot be solved with short-term quick fixes.

Aging and deteriorating residential cottages, damage from annual flooding in poorly graded buildings, and limited access for people with disabilities not only drain finances but present potential safety issues for our children and staff. Existing classrooms are unable to accommodate the space needs of our successful expressive therapies program or the computer technology that will help prepare our students for the future.

Project Goals
Specifically, your support for The Campaign for the Children of Lawrence Hall will help us build a new Lawrence Hall campus that will meet five critical goals:
1.   Enhance the residential treatment environment to meet the needs of a population of children with increasingly complex and profound problems.
2.   Enrich learning and vocational opportunities at the Therapeutic Day School by enhancing the classroom environment.
3.   Enhance security to ensure an even safer and more protective environment for the children of Lawrence Hall.
4.   Provide greater opportunities for community life within the campus and expanded interaction with the surrounding neighborhood.

What It Offers the Community
The new Lawrence Hall Residential Treatment and Educational Center offers much more than a bricks-and-mortar commitment to children we serve. It will provide a dynamic, community-centered solution that:
Serves as a powerful example of the public and private sector working together to improve the lives of Illinois' most disadvantaged children and youth.
Sets new standards in therapeutic excellence.
Furthers the agency's reputation as an advocate in child welfare.
Positions Lawrence Hall as a premier service leader — setting an example across the city, state, and nation for others to follow.

A Supportive Partnership
Lawrence Hall embarks on this ambitious campaign through a strong partnership of supporters across Chicago and the state. Your valued support can provide the action, hope, and opportunity to ensure a legacy of dedication, compassion, and committed service on behalf of Illinois' most disadvantaged children and youth.
