For the past five years, I have learned a great deal from Ms. Gould being my art teacher. There were times in my life when I felt like my world was turning upside down. And, then, there she was with a pencil and a piece of paper. I did not know what she meant, but gradually I began to understand as my drawing skills emerged. Now, I am 17 years old and I feel like I have had many good growth experiences. I have learned to refine my shapes, to understand color toning and to create meaningful visual expressions in my art work. I've been in many art contests and I didn't feel I could win in the beginning. My art teacher kept telling me I could do it. The first time I won a contest, it made me start to believe in myself and that I could do more things. It gave me hope for my future. I now respect art as creation just as we are created by God. Ms. Gould gave me the chance to think about my future and to believe I might become an art teacher. I want to build my skills so one day I could teach my classes to share what I have learned from Ms. Gould.
Sincerely, |
